KABUL: Sayed Shahabuddin Taimoori, ambassador to Uzbekistan has been dismissed from his post.
Taimoori was serving as Afghan envoy in the Central Asian country for two years, but was fired by the government before completing his service term that is three years.
Taimoori hosted a meeting held between Taliban representatives and some politicians from Kabul including former president Hamid Karzai in Russian capital. This reportedly enraged government officials to fire him.
The government refused to attend the Moscow meeting, calling it unacceptable because it was held without coordination with Kabul.
Officials in the ministry of foreign affairs were not immediately available to comment on the diplomat’s dismissal.
