AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: An Afghan asylum seeker has been killed by another refugee in a shelter house in southwestern Germany. The slain was attacked after a quarrel with another asylum seeker, said a public prosecutor the other day.
The victim was 22 years old was stabbed to death in Hassloch, in the western state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
The chief prosecutor for the Frankenthal area, Hubert Ströber, told reporters in Germany that the police detained another 26-year old Afghan asylum seeker in connection with the incident. He said that the victim might have died of stab wounds.
According to investigators, the two Afghan had fought shortly before midnight on Monday at the refugees’ shelter, where six other refugees were living with them. However, the reason behind the fight is still not clear.
Separately, another similar incident occurred in Kelkheim in Hesse, Germany late Monday, in which a 21-year old refugee was wounded after quarreling with another refugee. However the police arrested a 16-year old refugee who was accused of stabbing a man in the chest.
There is still fear to occur such incidents. On Sunday an argument erupted between a few hundreds of asylum seekers living in the Berlin’s now-defunct airport Tempelhof. Nearly one hundred and twenty policemen were deployed to handle the situation. As many as 20 refugees were arrested.
