KABUL: The Afghan security forces with artillery support have killed at least 24 militants and wounded 13 others in course of several operations conducted in different parts of the country in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) in a statement said Tuesday that the Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Ghazni, Paktia, Khost, Paktika, Kandahar, Badghis, Farah, Sar-e-Pul, Balkh, Takhar and Helmand provinces, in which 24 insurgents were killed and 13 others wounded.
Also the Afghan security forces have detained three militants during operation and handed them over judicial organs for further inquiry
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
11 Taliban fighters were killed and eight others wounded in Ghorak district of Kandahar—eight militants killed and two others wounded in Andar and Waghez district of Ghazni—four insurgents killed and three others wounded in center of Farah, and one Daesh loyalist was killed in Khogianai district of Nangarhar province, the statement added.
In past 24 hours, 17 planed clearing operations, and 81 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted 82 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including nine strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
The ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
