KABUL: At least 37 Taliban militants have been killed and tens of other wounded during ground and air operations carried out by the Afghan security forces in northern Balkh province, military officials said Monday.
Afghan Army Forces conducted crackdown in Sholgara and Chaharbolak districts of the province, in which 37 Taliban fighters were killed, 209 Shaheen Army Corps Spokesman Hanif Rezaie said. He said tens of insurgents were also wounded in the crackdown.
Afghan Air Forces also supported the army in the crackdown that eliminated two hideouts of the Taliban terrorists in the districts, he added.
He said that Afghan forces will continue clearance operation in Balkh districts to suppress terrorists.
