KABUL: In order to maintain security, Afghan local army has been created in Paktika province. 600 personnel of the local force recruited from the local community have completed their 4 months training. They will be deployed in districts, said Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) on Monday.
Timor Sharan, deputy minister of IDLG thanked the local residents of the area for recruiting their sons in the Afghan army.
Sharan appreciated the bravery of the Paktika community, adding that Afghan history is witnessed that they have defended and protected the country. He called on the newly graduated personnel of the local army to protect their areas.
It’s merits mentioning that the Afghan local army is created under the leadership of the Afghan National Army, for which personnel is recruited from the local community to protect their areas.
