Afghan media and landing rights in Pakistan

With reference to the news story “Afghan Media Face Landing Rights Issues in Pakistan” published in Afghanistan Times on October 15, 2015.

PEMRA has already granted landing rights permission to Afghanistan based satellite TV Channel “Afghan TV” which is being distributed by cable operators/ distribution network operators throughout Pakistan.

There is no ban on foreign channels/ Afghan channels. However, as per provision of PEMRA laws, any foreign channel can only be down linked/ distributed in Pakistan after obtaining Landing Rights permission from PEMRA.  The eligibility criteria, application form, documents required for Landing Rights can be downloaded from PEMRA website.
