KABUL: At least 85 Taliban fighters were killed and 35 others wounded during latest military stings carried out by the Afghan security forces in different provinces in the last 24 hours, defense ministry said Sunday.
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) have conducted counterattacks in Nangarhar, Wardak, Urzgan, Zabul, Jawzjan, Helmand, Badakhshan, Baghlan and Kunduz provinces, in which 85 Taliban insurgents were killed and 35 others wounded.
A large amount of weapons and ammunition of the enemy were also destroyed during the operations.
