By Akhtar M.Nikzad-KABUL: Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) as well as the Afghan and Turkish Industrialists and Trade Association (ATITA) jointly organized the sixth exhibition Tuesday in Kabul.
35 Afghan companies and 25 Turkish firms exhibited their products in 87 booths for four days that includes of electronic equipment’s, construction materials, furniture, foods, cloths internal decoration and cosmetic. Moreover 60 traders and investors from Turkey, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan were attended the exhibition.
Senior Vice-Chairman of ACCI, Khan Jan Alkozay said that ACCI had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ATSIAD in a bid to continue business until next 10 years in Afghanistan and Turkey.
He said that Turkish investors have so far invested around $132 million in various economical fields in Afghanistan.
He said that the Afghan exports rate to Turkey has decreased due to some regional political interference as last year Afghanistan had $60 million exportation with it. “But now it reduced by$13 million.”
“Furthermore, Afghanistan earlier had $400 million importations from Turkey, but now it has declined by $200 million,” he mentioned.
He termed holding industrials expos with Turkey important for expansion of trade ties and economical growth of both countries, asking the government to resolve the current challenges faced by national and international investors.
Head of ATITA, Sami Yavuz in the occasion said that despite of different challenges, Turkish businessmen willing to invest in Afghanistan.
“We hope Afghanistan to reach its chronic goals as powerful industrial country in the region,”
President’s Special Envoy for Good Governance and Reforms, Ahmad Zia Massoud said that Turkey always had extraordinary trade and political relations with Afghanistan and this country supported Afghans in various aspects.
“Our external trade has very low contribution in the economical growth and all the necessaries of the country is provided by importation incomes,” he said.
He lamented that till Afghanistan remained in its old traditional trade system, this country never see economical growth and people would persist in poverty.
It is pertained to mention that this is the sixth Afghan-Turkey expo that being held in Kabul and Istanbul. In the past, 25000 people visited expo center in Kabul.
