Kabul: Tomas Niklasson, the European Union Special Representative for Afghanistan during his three-day visit to Pakistan, met with Pakistani officials and agreed on the continuation of regional and international community’s cooperation for the people of Afghanistan during these difficult times.
He also reiterated on the formation of an inclusive government and protecting the rights of the people of Afghanistan, rights of women and girls, and other minorities.
Meanwhile the European Union Special Envoy for Afghanistan added that they do not want Afghanistan to be “isolated”; however he said there is no option on the table to officially recognize the current administration.
The international community has always emphasized on the observance of human rights, especially the rights of women in the country, but the Afghan authorities has always rebuffed this demand and said that they are committed to all human and women’s rights issues that do not conflict with Islamic values.
