KABUL: More than 200 diplomats and envoys of various world countries, including the acting Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi are participating in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, a three-day high-level conference on Friday.
Although the meeting is primarily focusing on the tensions in Ukraine, Afghanistan would also be part of the agenda.
An Islamic Emirate delegation, led by Muttaqi had earlier left Kabul for Turkey to take part in the meeting.
On the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Muttaqi held a trilateral meeting with Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and the US special envoy for Afghanistan, Thomas West, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
“In this meeting, many different matters including the recognition of the Islamic Emirate, economic development, and the extension of political relations were discussed,” said Zia Ahmad Takal, deputy spokesman for MoFA.
“The Islamic Emirate has fulfilled all conditions for recognition and should be recognized by the international community. The Afghan assets should be released and there should be engagement with Afghanistan and the right Afghans,” Muttaqi told the reporters in Turkey.
