KABUL: Afghanistan has recorded 26 new COVID-19 cases across the country in the past 24 hours, said the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Tuesday.
The total tally since the outbreak of the epidemic has reached to 55,894 around the country.
The new cases come positive out of 2,015 suspected samples tested during the same period of time, the ministry added.
Another seven patients have fully recovered in the past 24 hours.
The number of total recoveries has exceeded to 49,409 and the deaths to 2,451 in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic started one year ago.
The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 2,601,043 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 117,188,008, according to Johns Hopkins University.
