Afghanistan records 59 new covid-19 cases in last 24 hours

KABUL: With 59 new infections in the last 24 hours, now Afghanistan officially has 37,953 coronavirus cases, the Ministry of Public Health said on Saturday.

According to the ministry, out of 328 suspected samples, 59 were reported positive—24 in Kabul, 21 in Herat, 11 in Balkh, one case each in Nangarhar, Nuristan and Kunar provinces.

No coronavirus related deaths have been registered in the past 24 hours.

Totally, 27,990 patients have recovered and 1,385 others have lost their lives battling the virus since the outbreak of the pandemic started in the country around six months ago.
