KABUL: With 45 newly infected in the past 24 hours, now Afghanistan has 37,551 confirmed coronavirus cases, the Ministry of Public Health said on Saturday.

Out of 105 suspected samples, 45 were reported positive—35 positive cases were registered in Herat, eight in Ghor and one case each in Balkh and Badghis provinces.

One patient lost his life battling the covid-19 during this period of time.

Total recoveries have exceeded 27,166 and the deaths are to 1,370 since the outbreak of the pandemic started in the country around six months ago.
