KABUL: Afghanistan has recorded 138 new positive cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total tally to 42,297 across the country, the Ministry of Public Health said Monday.
Out of 594 suspected samples, 138 were reported positive – 33 positive cases were recorded in Balkh, 26 in Herat, 23 in Kabul, 15 in Kapisa, 11 in Kandahar, six in Nangarhar, four in Takhar, four in Baghlan, three in Kunduz, three in Parwan, two in Paktia, two in Badghis, two in Nimroz, two in Ghor and two in Urozgan provinces.
12 patients have lost their lives battling the virus and 263 others have fully recovered during this period of time, the ministry added.
The total recoveries reached to 34,721 and the deaths to 1,574 in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic started in the country months ago.
