AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Following their win against Laos on Friday, the national soccer squad is all set to face Bangladesh in a friendly match in Dhaka today (Tuesday).
The match will be held in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh at around 2:30pm at Kabul’s time.
The national squad on Sunday spent the day training and preparing for Tuesday’s match.
The competition is aimed at providing the Afghan team a chance to prepare for upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifying rounds.
After Tuesday’s friendly, the national team will travel to Iran where they will face Syria in their first WC qualifier round on June 11. The Afghan national soccer team faced Bangladesh in the Asian Challenges Cup n 2008 which ended 0-0.
The soccer squad’s victory against Laos was lauded countrywide. Officials in Afghanistan Football Federation say that changes in technical staff and members of the national squad were behind Afghans’ victory in the event.
