AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Ministry of Commerce and Industries said that Afghanistan would receive the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) membership by the end of 2015.

Meanwhile, other officials of the ministry also voiced pleasure and said the membership would have a positive impact on business in Afghanistan. They said that it would also resolve business and transit trade related problems.
They furthered that the membership would allow Afghanistan to export its products to the world markets, with low trade tariff.
They also said that it provides a golden opportunity for investors to invest in Afghanistan.
However, the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) is not so optimistic, saying the membership would not help Afghanistan business system.
The deputy chief of ACCI, Baz Mohammad Baz, said the process would create problems for Afghan businessmen and would discourage investors. However, he did not explain his point.
Afghanistan has been struggling to achieve the WTO membership since 2009. Fortunately, Kabul was able to meet its goal.
