Kabul: Afghanistan’s acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, has said that the ministry will soon auction a number of oil and gas rich areas in Afghanistan, he raised this issue in a meeting with the delegation of a Chinese company.
The Afghanistan Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has said in a statement that during this meeting, the Chinese company expressed their willingness to invest in Afghanistan’s oil and gas fields.
The Minister of Mines of Afghanistan has welcomed the foreign companies’ willingness to invest in Afghanistan’s mineral resources and added that “Afghanistan has rich oil and gas resources, the Ministry of Mines will soon auction a number of oil and gas rich areas of the country”.
Previously, Afghanistan has entrusted the extraction of oil in the Amu offshore area to the Chinese company “CPEIC”, the contract for this project was signed last year.
The Chinese company will extract oil from an area of 4,500 square meters of areas in Qashgari, Zamardsai, Bazar Komi, Aghdaria and Angut fields in Sarpol, Jawzjan and Faryab provinces.
