KABUL: Afghanistan on Friday confirmed its participation in the Under-15 Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Championship to be hosted by Japan.
Sponsored by the Japan Football Association, the event will feature 10 squads from the Central Asia region besides several Japanese teams.
In a statement, the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) said the national side had been grouped together with Uzbekistan and Japan.
According to an AFF statement, Tajikistan, Tokyo, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Japan Football Academy are included in the first group. The tournament is scheduled to begin on March 23. (PAN)
