AT-KABUL: The Wolesi Jirga (WJ) or the lower house of the parliament on Monday approved the Afghanistan-Turkey strategic cooperation pact and the law on travel and stay of foreigners.
The strategic cooperation pact (containing the preface and 17 articles) would improve ties between Kabul and Ankara further.
According to the approved pact, Turkey would help Afghanistan in different fields including security, civil services, industries, trade, environment and transportation, said Abdul Qayomi Sajadi, the chief of International Relations Committee (IRC) of the WJ.
Dawood Kalakani, a member of the IRC, said that based on the law on travel and stay of foreigners, those Afghans who have dual nationality would be able to travel to Afghanistan without visa.
Kalakani said that Afghanistan has already had such law for managing the travel of foreign citizens, but Article 17 of the new law was facilitating Afghans holding dual nationality.
He said that Afghans born in foreign lands would be able to visit Afghanistan without any visa if they had a birth certificate.
