AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: As many as 23 Taliban militants have been killed in Afghan military airstrike in Faryab province the other day, said a local official.
Mohammad Reza Rezaye, a spokesman for 209th Shaheen military corps, said that the airstrike come after that a swarm of Taliban militants stormed Kohistan district of the province.
He said that 23 Taliban insurgents including six foreigners were killed in the strike, while 14 others wounded.
Local officials in the district said that the district is still under the militants’ threat. They urged security forces in the district to stay alert.
The Taliban militants have increased their activities across the country. The militant group recently attack several military checkpoints in Jalrez district of Maidan Wardak province and killed more than 30 soldiers.
