AT-KABUL: Afghan forces have pushed back a Taliban’s attack in northern Farah province, military authorities have said.
Taliban fighters massively stormed security posts in Jamjama Qala and Bazaar Qala area of Dawlat Abad district in Farah on Sunday night, but faced strict resistance of Afghan forces, said a statement issued by Shaheen corps.
Statement said that clashes started at around 10:00pm and continued till 3:00am for around five hours, which Afghan forces succeeded to push Taliban back from the area.
Statement said that Taliban insurgents failed to fight with Afghan forces and fled the area.
During clashes 10 Taliban fighters were killed and six other wounded by Afghan forces, added statement. Dead bodies of killed Taliban left in battle field.
One Afghan security forces was killed and two others wounded during clashes, mentioned statement.
No casualty incurred to civilians in the area, underlined the statement.
