AT News Report-KABUL: In a successful and well-planned military operation, Afghan army forcesrescued seven prisoners from Taliban captivity and killed eight militants in southern Uruzgan province.
Based on pre-intelligence information, army commando forces conducted clearance crackdowns over a Taliban secret prison in Chaharchino district in Uruzgan, said a press statement released by Ministry of Defense (MoD).
Statement said that during operation seven civilians were in lock up in Taliban prison were released.
Eight Taliban fighters were killed, 4000kg explosives, one vehicle, six motorbike, 38 rounds of mine, 3kg opium with some other ammunition destroyed during attack by Afghan forces, added statement.
Army commandos were supported by Afghan aerial forces, mentioned statement.
