KABUL: At least 579Taliban militants were killed and 161of them were wounded in military crackdowns by Afghan security forces in different provinces in the past 24 hours, officials said on Monday.
Afghan security forces succeeded to kill 579 Taliban militants during clashes and counters attacks in Nangarhar, Khost, Logar, Paktia, Kandahar, Herat, Farah, Jowzjan, Samangan, Helmand, Takhar, Kunduz and Panjshir provinces, said a statement issued by Ministry of Defense (MoD).
Statement said that 161other rebels were wounded during raids.
Some amount of weapons and ammunition of the enemy destroyed during crackdown by Afghan forces, added statement.
