Kabul: The Deputy Minister of the interim government of the Taliban announced that during the past month, 120 people in Afghanistan lost their lives due to floods.
Sharafuddin Muslim, Deputy Minister of the Taliban Interim Government for disaster Management, announced that last month, 120 people lost their lives and 152 others were injured due to floods in 21 provinces of Afghanistan.
Muslim said in a press conference that during this period, 3 thousand and 19 residential houses, three highways, hundreds of kilometers of side streets, dozens of water wells, thousands of acres of agricultural land were destroyed and thousands of livestock were lost.
He asked the international community and the UN to cooperate in addressing the basic needs of the flood victims.
He also announced the creation of a commission to regulate aid affairs and deal with the victims of the earthquake.
By announcing this, he added that the basic needs of the victims of the recent earthquakes in Paktika and Khost provinces have been met by 90%. Muslim said that as a result of recent earthquakes in four cities of Paktika and Khost provinces, 1,600 people were killed and 3,100 people were injured.
