AT-KABUL: The National Security Adviser Muhammad Haneef Atmar on Wednesday had a farewell meeting with the outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Kabul, Mr. Yao Jing at the end of his tenure.
Regional security and matters of mutual interests were discussed in the meeting, during which Atmar acknowledged and appreciated the role of outgoing ambassador in consolidating friendly relations between the peoples and governments of Afghanistan and the People’s Republic of China.
Atmar said China is a regional friend of Afghanistan which played important role in political and economic stability of Afghanistan. He appreciated China’s efforts it done for reconciliation with Taliban.
He furthered that the outgoing Chinese ambassador’s role in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries was of tremendous importance.
During the meeting, the outgoing Chinese ambassador expressed his confidence in political leadership of Afghanistan and enhanced their cooperation for strengthening friendly ties between the Kabul and Beijing. He added the newly appointed Chinese ambassador to Kabul has to utilize his potentials for strengthening bilateral relations. He said the role of new Chinese ambassador to Kabul would be of great importance.
