AT-KABUL: National Security Advisor, Hani Atmar, met Sunday with the Saudi Ambassador to Kabul, Jasim al-Khalidi.
During the meeting, the national security advisor emphasized on the implementation of the quadrilateral mechanism for cooperation, the National Security Council said.
Saudi ambassador assured Atmar that Riyadh was ready to cooperate with Kabul on the expansion of bilateral relations, political and security improvement. He also said that his country would try to implement its part of the Afghanistan-Saudi-US-Pakistan joint mechanism.
Atmar said that Afghans were happy with the expansion of the relationship with Saudi, thanking the Persian Gulf’s Arab state for its assistance with the Afghan people and government.
He called Saudi Arabia’s role important in the quadrilateral cooperation mechanism.
