AT monitoring Desk-KABUL: Chinese Premier Li Keqiang assured Afghanistan’s Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah of China’s lasting support to counter terrorism and speed up reconstruction in the country.
At a meeting with Dr. Abdullah in Dushanbe, Prime Minister Li Keqiang reiterated China’s all-weather commitment to Afghanistan in train Afghan personnel. He also vowed to broaden trilateral cooperation among Kabul, Beijing and Islamabad.
He pinned hopes on improvement of security situation in Afghanistan to allow for reconstruction and development in the war-ravaged country.
Premier Li Keqiang also vowed China’s continued support to promote political reconciliation in Afghanistan.
China’s broader involvement in Afghanistan’s reconstruction and development process has long been sought after with Beijing taking huge strides in that aspect.
In the meeting, Abdullah expressed Afghanistan readiness to step up cooperation with China in the fields of economy, trade, power generation, agricultural and counterterrorism.
