Kabul: At least two people were killed and 12 injured in a blast near Afghanistan’s ministry of foreign affairs, according to Emergency hospital in Kabul.
Local media reported an explosion occurred at a checkpoint on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs street when the employees of the ministry were leaving.
A video was published on social networks after the explosion, which shows that the explosion apparently took place at the entrance gate of the Davoudzi business center, adjacent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building.
Some sources have said that the explosion was caused by a “suicide attack”.
No group has yet claimed responsibility, and Taliban security officials have not yet commented.
Two months ago, on January 11, an explosion occurred in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in Kabul, killing and injuring a large number of employees and diplomats of the former government who continued to work after the Taliban returned to power. The Khorasan branch of the (ISIS) claimed responsibility for that attack.
