AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least four children have been killed and four other received injuries after a bomb exploded inside a house in the outskirts of the capital of western Herat province, an official said.
The governor’s spokesman, Jilani Farhad, told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast took place inside the house of a local influential figure in Islam Qala Township, west of Herat City on Thursday afternoon.
“All the killed children belongs to the same family and they were between two and eight years old,” he said.
He added that the bomb was planted in the house recently. Farhad said the motivation behind the attack was unknown. However, he informed of an investigation already conducted by the police into the matter.
According to the source, Herat Zonal Hospital spokesman Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai confirmed receiving four injured children from the incident area.
The condition of one child, an eight years old girl, is critical, he said.
