AT-Kabul: British Ambassador to Kabul, Karen Pierce, called on the Afghan foreign minister Salahuddin Rabbani and discussed different issues of mutual interest.
Rabbani in the meeting with Ms Karen Pierce thanked Britain for the continued support to Afghanistan, and briefed the ambassador on Thursday’s visit of high-level Afghan delegation to Islamabad of which he was part.
In the aftermath of deadly suicide attacks in the capital city which claimed lives of several people and left hundreds of residents injured, the government sent a delegation, comprising of the acting defense minister Masoom Stanikzai, Minister of Foreign Affairs Salahuddin Rabbani and the chief of National Directorate of Security Rahmatullah Nabil. The delegation conveyed the message of President Ashraf Ghani to Pakistani authorities and sought action against the Afghan militants having shelters in the neighboring country.
The British ambassador condemned the terror attacks and extended condolence. She said that her country would continue to provide financial support to the High Peace Council.
