KABUL: The United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, says that Central Asian states play key role in stability in Afghanistan.
In a meeting with Kazakh President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Guterres, said Saturday that the UN and Central Asia would cooperatively work to help peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The meeting also discussed joint battle against the pandemic, climate exchange and security in the region.
Tokayev said his country would be ready to assist Afghanistan by taking active part in the international efforts for peace and security in the war-hit country.
He also informed the UN chief about the homemade Corona vaccine that could immunize the country’s 55 per cent of population by the end of this year. Guterres welcomed the local vaccine as a successful campaign.
The meeting between the United nations Secretary General and Kazakh President took place online on Saturday and the two sides called it successful and productive.
