KABUL: Chief Executive Office slammed Taliban for commenting that persons who attend the Doha meeting on behalf of Kabul, cannot represent the government.
The chief executive spokesman said Monday that the group was not in a position to make decision for the internationally-recognized government.
FeraidoonKhozon, a spokesman for the CEO said on Monday that people introduced as government delegation would participate in the meeting as government representatives, not independent individuals.
“Taliban can’t decide about our destiny,we would participate in the meeting, but the government’sdelegation would represent the government and Afghan politicians would express their personal opinions,”Khozon said.
However, the head of the high peace council s’ secretariat Mohammad UmerDaudzai said that an inclusive team who represents all Afghans would fly to Qatar for consultative talks with the Taliban.
A source close to the government who wish to be anonymous, said that thechief executive AbdullahAbdullah and Daudzai have been invited to the meeting, but Abdullah may not participate because of current stance of the Taliban.
The Taliban said in a statement that the second round of talks between Taliban and Afghan politician wouldn’t officially represent peace talks, adding that the attendants would discuss their ideas and clear their stance in the meeting.
The exact date of the meeting is not yet clear.
