AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah plans to visit Iran soon and would discuss issues of mutual interests as well as key regional and international developments with senior Iranian officials, sources said.
According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, a high-ranking Iranian delegation, including the ministries of interior, economy and foreign affairs, will meet with Abdullah in Tehran.
In his meeting, the issue of Afghan refugees in Iran and border security is also considered to be discussed.
In April 2015, the two countries inked two cooperation agreements in presence of the presidents of Afghanistan and Iran between Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani and Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Jawad Zarif. The agreements cover cooperation between the two foreign ministries, and academic cooperation between Afghan Ministry of Higher Education and Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
