Kabul: Michelle Bachelet, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, published a new report on the violation of the rights of Muslims in China on Wednesday.
According to this report, China is accused of “seriously violating the human rights of Uighur Muslims” in the Xinjiang state, and this violation of rights amounts to crimes against humanity.
China had asked Bachelet to refrain from publishing the report and rejected its content. Bachelet also admitted that she was under a lot of pressure about this report.
The report states that “the level of arbitrary and discriminatory arrests, limiting the individual and collective fundamental rights of Uyghurs and other Muslims in China probably falls under the category of international crimes, especially crimes against humanity.”
According to the Guardian, the Chinese government responded by saying that the report was “based on false and false information created by China’s enemies to defame this country.”
In this report, the United Nations confirms that allegations such as torture, sexual violence and forced medical operations against the Chinese government are “valid”.
The report says that the Chinese government has taken these actions under the pretext of fighting terrorism and extremism.
