Kabul: The United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) tweeted today (Sunday) that climate change is reducing access to water across Afghanistan.
According to OCHA the proportion of households experiencing water shortages rose from 48% in 2021 to 60% in 2022.
OCHA says that $479.4M is needed to solve the water & sanitation crisis in Afghanistan in 2023.
Afghanistan is facing a severe drought in recent years. The torrential rains caused by climate change have also destroyed the country’s water resources.
