AT-KABUL: A policeman was killed and four judges were injured on Sunday morning in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Pul-e-Alam, capital of Logar province.
The deadly blast on vehicle of the judges has also left four civilians injured. According to the provincial governor Haleem Fidaee, the bomb was attached to a bicycle which went off around 9:00 am near the judges’ vehicle in the provincial capital.
Chief of the appellant court Haqiqur Rahman Haqmal, chief of the urban court Abdul Basit, head of the appellant court’s criminal branch Mohammad Omar Haidari and another official were injured in the blast.
The governor said that land usurpers might be involved in the attack. He confirmed that four civilians were injured and a cop was killed in the blast, adding that the injured were shifted to the Kabul Emergency Hospital.
“I was there when the heavy explosion smashed windowpanes in nearby houses and buildings,” Javed, an eyewitness, was quoted by Pajhwok Afghan News as saying.
The Taliban has taken responsibility for the attack. Spokesman of the militant group Zabihullah Mujahid said in a media statement that six people including judges were killed in the blast.
