KABUL: The number of confirmed Afghanistan cases since the coronavirus pandemic has risen to 33,384 and the death toll has climbed to 920, according to the Afghan health ministry that sees the lowest infections and fatalities comparing to some countries in the world.
22 patients have lost their lives to the virus, and 126 others recovered during this period, bringing the total recoveries to 20,151.
The Public Health Ministry on Tuesday said that 194 latest cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, a significant decline in respiratory cases which had been continued in the past five days in row.
Out of 495 suspected samples, 194 were reported positive that includes 57 cases in Herat, 32 in Daykundi, 23 in Takhar, 15 in Kabul, 12 in Badghis, 11 each in Ghazni and Balkh provinces.
Similarly, six cases were reported in Maidan Wardak, five in Badakhshan, five in Parwan, three in Panjshir, two in Kunar, two in Khost, two in Logar and one case each in Nangarhar and Laghman provinces.
In total, more than 11 million people have infected with the Coronavirus across the world, and over 6 millions recovered and 536,814 others lost their lives battling the virus.
