290 new infections, 17 deaths reported in a single day

KABUL: Afghanistan has recorded a one-day rise in the number of new coronavirus infections, with 290 reported over 24 hours, with 17 deaths.
With new infections, the total tally of positive cases reached to 45,278 throughout the country, the Ministry of Public Health said Tuesday.
These cases come positive out 1,428 suspected samples – 70 positive cases were recorded in Kabul, 47 in Herat, 44 in Nangarhar, 34 in Kandahar, 30 in Parwan, 15 in Ghazni, 12 in Takhar, 12 in Kunduz, 10 in Nimroz, eight in Baghlan, five in Logar and three in Maidan Wardak provinces.
17 patients lost their lives battling the virus and 146 others have fully recovered during this period of time.
The total recoveries have exceeded to 36,122 and the deaths to 1,712 since the outbreak of the pandemic started in the country months ago.
