Kabul: The 37th meeting of the Working Group on Afghanistan at the CSTO Ministerial Council was held on Thursday, according to the organization.
The participants in the summit discussed the situation in Afghanistan, and noted the persistence of unfavorable trends in the security situation, including the growth of terrorist and drug threats emanating from the territory of this country. It was noted that Afghanistan was still in a difficult economic situation and the Afghan people were facing problems in the social and humanitarian sphere.
The Charge d’Affaires of Afghanistan in the Russian Federation also participated in the event which was attended by delegations from the organization’s member states.
While the member countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization have repeatedly expressed concern about the danger of terrorist groups infiltrating these countries from Afghanistan, the Afghanistan authorities have responded that there is no threat from Afghanistan and that Kabul is committed to respecting the principles of neighborliness.
