Kabul: The Central Bank of Afghanistan announced on Wednesday that they have distributed 100 million new banknotes of Afghani currency to the country’s commercial banks and in return has collected damaged notes from these banks.
According to the Central Bank, the new banknotes include 10, 20, 50 and 100 Afghanis.
For long times citizens have been complaining about the existence of mutilated banknotes in the markets.
The central bank says that considering the needs of the market and taking into account reasonable monetary policies, it injects new banknotes into the market and collects damaged banknotes instead.
