KABUL: Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) on Tuesday warned to introduce people who accused of electricity theft or found evasive to pay electricity bills to attorney for legal process.
DABS has signed an agreement with the General Attorney Office (AGO) to prosecute those individuals who are accusing of power theft or not paying electricity bills.
According to a statement issued by Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) the agreement signed at the light of 14, 701 and 710 articles of penalty code, between Deputy of AGO Noor Habib Jalal and the Chief Executive Officer of DABS Eng. AmanullahGhaleb.
Based on agreement a joint committee would be established to prosecute the case of those people who miss-use or not paying electricity bills or accused of energy theft.
Besidesreleasing the name of electricity theft or damaging to the energy institution, the DABS will introduce them to AGO for trial with the considering penalty code.
Chief Executive Officer of DABS Eng. AmanullahGhaleb said 300 people accused of electricity theft were introduced to AGO at the current year, where through 108 million Afscollected.He said 3,310 customers of DABS have paid their loans this year as well.
Totally loans of the DABS over customers has been reached to 7.8 billion Afs, which out of 4.5 of billion is belonged to residential areas, 2.7 billion to commercial areas and 570 million is the lendson holy institutions, he added.
Meanwhile Deputy of AGO Noor Habib Jalal ensured that those people who introduces by DABS to AGO as accused of energy theft or harming to electricity institution will be put on trial.
