KABUL: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi denounced the recent attack by ISIS (Daesh) terrorists on Nowruz ceremonies in Kabul.
Qasemi sympathized with Afghan government, people and the
bereaved families of the victims of the inhuman act which resulted in killing
and injuring defenseless and innocent people, IRNA reported.
He said Nowruz and its culture is a unifying factor among different groups and
ethnicities in the region, adding that Daesh has targeted this unifying factor
in the region.
Certainly, they will not reach their aims to create division among regional
countries, Qasemi reiterated.
Three consecutive explosions shook KarteSakhi, Kabul, the capital of
Afghanistan, on Thursday morning.
KarteSakhi is the place for commemorating Nowruz festival in Afghanistan.
The first explosion took place in Nowruz commutation place, the second one on a
road leading to the same place from Kabul University, and, ten minutes later,
the third one in Kabul University.
The incident has claimed the lives of 6 people and injured 23 more.
