AT-KABUL: The Daesh terrorists have killed a religious scholar in the Rodat district of the eastern Nangarhar province, local officials said on Saturday.
“The victim was identified as Maulawi Abdul Samed who was Imam of a mosque in Qala Akhond area of Rodat district,” provincial governor spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said.
He said Daesh terrorists had kidnapped him late Friday, adding that he had not any relationship with the government.
Meanwhile, a top leader of the Daesh terrorist group was killed along with his seven fighters in a US drone strike in Nangarhar.
“The drone strike was carried out in Laghar Joy area of Kot district late Friday,” Khogyani said.
“The commander were identified as Mullah Burzog and some ammunition were also destroyed as well during the operation,”
No civilian’s casualties have been reported during the operation, he added.
