KABUL: Vice President, Mohammad Sarwar Danesh called on the national statistics office to be impartial in providing information and not to be under any political pressures.
He warned that nothing would be trustable and reliable if the statistics jobs are politically meddled. “We will face problems in making every policy unless we have accurate and specific data about the country’s population and composition. If the current situation continues, it will make serious obstructs before nation building,” Danesh said Tuesday at a gathering in Kabul.
Danesh emphasized on the independence and impartiality at the statistics office, saying that it should be independent in announcing of information and should keep away from the interests of political groups.
The vice president said that issuing of ID cards is related to the people’s status and identification, adding that
the electronic ID card is important for providing facilities to people’s activities and easier services to them as well as for their property safety.
“I once again emphasize that the electronic ID card and its database include national, ethnic, religious and cultural identities under the constitution’s article 4, where no ethnicity can be ignored or falsified.”
