KABUL – In northern Afghanistan’s Faryab province, the death toll from recent floods has surged to 80, the Taliban confirmed. The severe flooding has impacted five districts and the outskirts of Maymana city.
The disaster has left five individuals injured and five others missing, compounding the distress in the region. The floods have also caused significant financial losses for the residents, adding to their challenges.
Initial reports had recorded 18 deaths, but the number has sharply increased as rescue and recovery efforts are ongoing. Authorities are actively working to find the missing and provide aid to those affected by the floods.
