AT-KABUL: Provincial officials have said that the toll from Tuesday’sfatal suicide bombing on a protest gathering in eastern province of Nangarhar has climbed to 68 and 165 wounded.

A suicide bomber rammed into a throng of protestersin Mohmand Dara districton the highway between the eastern Jalalabad city and the Torkham crossing, an attack which left 68 dead and 165 wounded, said Nangarhar Governor Spokesman Attaullah Khogiani.

Inhabitants of Achin district converged in Mohmand Dara district to protest against alleged atrocities of a local police commander.

The wounded people are under treatment in provincial hospital, he added.

He said that Nangarhar Governor Hayatullah Hayat has visited wounded people and ordered to the hospital to use all means for better treatment of victims of the incident.
