KABUL: In the wake of the international and domestic calls for the reopening of girls’ schools, the “Noor Capacities Development and Training Institute” at a gathering encourages the Islamic Emirate to allow female students above gradesix to attend school as soon as possible.
“We want progress and excellence for the Muslim nation of Afghanistan and for the development of this we call for the opening of schools for all boys and girls in the country,” said Fazel Ghani Kakar, director of the Noor Capacities Development and Training Institute.
“Women and girls want to go back to school, please open the doors of schools for girls,” said Khatera Alizai, a member of the Noor Capacities Training and Development Institute.
The institute launched an initiative to develop the leadership and management skills of women, girls, and teachers.
“The capacity building project is for women and girls, and after receiving the training, our students will be able to receive their Islamic-defined rights in a scientific and fundamental way,” said Maiwand Rahi, master trainer at the Noor Capacities Development and Training Institute.
“The source of progress for the growth, development and capacity building of women and girls is the establishment of educational centers in the country,” said Hassania Tuba, a member of the Noor Capacities Training and Development Institute.
Participants commented on the program:
“I am glad that I participated in this program because as a teacher I need to know leadership and management, as well as knowing about women’s rights,” said teacher Monira Nosrati.
The calls for the reopening of girls’ schools made by several top Afghan politicians, Islamic scholars and international community, but the Islamic Emirate has yet to reopen the schools for girls beyond grade six.
