AT-KABUL:  Chief of Kahmard district of Bamyan province was killed by his bodyguards, official sources said.

Bamyan Police Chief, Abdul Mateen Ezidyar, told media that Hadi Khan Sighani, district chief of Kahmard, was assassinated by his bodyguards late last night.

He said that Sighani was killed when he was going from provincial capital to Kahmard district.

“The district chief was assassinated by his bodyguards at 10:00 pm in Sokhta Chinar area of Kahmard,” he said.

Ezidyar said that police has arrested the bodyguards alleged of killing the district chief. He claimed that the bodyguards had confessed to their crimes, but the motive was still unclear.
