KABUL: At least 47 Taliban militants were killed in foreign forces airstrikes conducted in southern Kandahar province, military official said Tuesday.
Provincial Police Spokesman, Jamal Nasir Barakzai said the aerial operations were conducted in Maroof and Arghistan districtss of the province.
“37 rebels were killed in several airstrikes in Sialon, Besmil and Shmozo villages of Maroof district,” he said, adding, 10 other militants have been killed in airstrikes conducted in Arghistan district.
He furthered the security forces in cooperation with the Resolute Supports have intensified aerial and ground operations to suppress the militants in the province.
According to him, no civilian has suffered casualties in the operations.
The Taliban group has not made any comments in regards so far.
