AT-KABUL: Dozens of Taliban militants were killed and wounded within past 24 hours in a different crackdowns carried by the Afghan security forces across the country, security officials said on Saturday.
In a press release issued here, the ministry of defense said that during operations, tens of insurgents, including three local commanders of the Taliban and 17 Islamic State, or Daesh militants were killed and 66 other wounded.
In addition to that, 25 militants were detained by Afghan security forces during the raids, the statement added.
Unfortunately, 22 Afghan security forces were also killed during operations, the statement said.
These operations were carried in different areas of Nangarhar, Kunar, Ghazni, Paktia, Logar, Maidan Wardak, Kundahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Ghor, Farah, Badghis, Kunduz, Baghlan, Faryab, and Helmand provinces, the statement added.
